Total Solar Eclipse
Australia & South Pacific - November 14, 2012
From Boats bobbing on the Great Barrier Reef to hot-air balloons hovering over a rain forest, tens of thousands of scientists, tourists and astronomers watched as the sun, moon and Earth aligned, plunging northern Australia into darkness during a total solar eclipse.
Spectators whooped and clapped as the moon passed between the sun and Earth darkening a slice of the continent for two minutes. -Associated Press
